OVERVIEW
To provide new services for young people aged 10-13, also known as the transitions age group, and 14-19, particularly those engaged in anti-social behaviour or at risk of being drawn into anti-social behaviour or have been victims of anti-social behaviour. The project is delivered on 2 social housing estates in the Cantelowes Ward, Maiden Lane and St. Pancras Way.
We also support the young people as they move from primary school to secondary school and continue to support them through that transition period, as this is one of the times in young people’s lives when they are most vulnerable and in need of support to enable them to make the schools transition successfully.
Our project has also established a street team on the two estates. The team goes out in pairs twice a week and target young people on the estates. The team has further developed Maiden Lane’s positive working relationships with young people and with the Tenants and Residents Associations on both estates. They offer support and guidance including signposting young people to key agencies and offer support with personal issues often around family tensions.
