Maiden Lane Community Centre (MLCC) established in 1982 is part of the vibrant Maiden Lane Estate, supporting over 700 families in one of the 10% most deprived neighbourhoods in England. Catering for a wide range of interests and age groups we secure outcomes across the life span, through diverse and impactful services and projects meeting the needs of our residents.
A diverse team led by Director Naz Islam have 100+ years’ experience of working at MLCC and many more years working across Camden.
Reflecting our community and developing our community 33% of our current staff team began their journey with us as beneficiaries of the charity.
Bringing together all aspects of the work we do can be encapsulated by our recent success with a short film called ‘Tin Luck’ co-produced by MLCC. In front of and behind the camera are people who grew up on Maiden Lane, community centre staff team members and local London talent all learning, connecting and working together to create a wonderful piece of art that truly represents our diverse community.
Directed by Beatrix Blaise Tin Luck was a great success in bringing the community together and was nominated for Best UK Short film at the BFI Raindance Film Festival in 2020 and was an Official Selection at the Athens International Film Festival 2020, New York Nordic International Film Festival and Berlin 2021.
