OVERVIEW
An important element of our youth work is our Street Team that engages with at risk young people keeping them safe, encouraging them to engage with young people's activities in Camden and signposting them to relevant local services, when necessary.
The project is primarily delivered on 2 social housing estates in Cantelowes Ward, Maiden Lane and St. Pancras Way. Supporting young people in hotspots where they are at risk of being drawn into gangs or anti-social behaviour, and supporting those who are victims of anti-social behaviour.
Young people respond very well to having youth workers on the streets and on their estates, giving them positive messages and encouraging them to participate in a variety of youth activities and programmes available to them.
Indeed, many of the young people we engage now join in with and contribute to activities at Maiden Lane.
